Winner “Human Emotion” Portrait Contest

Carrie Glenn – Pencil Drawing Group Winner

Author: kseriphyn Networker Extraordinaire

Earlier this month the Pencil Drawing group ran a competition which was based on the theme “Human Emotion”. Members were to vote for the drawing they liked and felt displayed this best. This competition has now closed. Carrie Glenn’s Portrait of Vincent Price came out trumps.

Carrie has spent years developing her skills so it’s no surprise she would be able to draw a masterpiece well worthy of the win. She was born in Salem, Oregon and has travelled extensively. Now she is back in her home state and doing what she does best. Her style is versatile. “So I can take on any project that comes my way. My style may seam to include quite a variety yet most of the paintings I create I have dreamed about or seen in my mind and been inspired to do. So they are all a part of me. I don’t believe in sticking to one medium or type of art, it should be about exploring and inventing like the artistic masters before us…” says Carrie.

Currently her projects involve illustrating several children’s books. She has the honours of being officially published in the “Artists of the NW” Art book by Jan. 2008. She loves working with charities and helping others with the talent she has. She has a partnership with March of Dimes and works with them on their annual auctions.

There is so much more to learn of this generous hearted and talented artist. A lot can be found in her portfolio, which is more than impressive.

The Pencil Drawing group’s primary aim is for artists to show off their drawing skills, gain valuable techniques and tips on using pencils. There are many impressive artists, such as Carrie, part of this group. So, if you were looking for drawing inspiration, advice and tips this group is really one worthy of a look in. I’m sure you would receive friendly help and advice should you need it.

Congratulations Carrie for winning the competition and well done to the Pencil Drawing group for hosting a successful competition.
